Victoria and the Saanich Peninsula is blessed with west coast weather, sheltered by the Sooke Hills to the west and the magnificent Olympic Mountains to the south-east. The annual rainfall is surprisingly low, averaging 18 inches a year Victoria has the distinction of having a week long flower count in February. This last year Victorians counted 6 billion flowers. Butchart Gardens is just minutes away and open year round. Golfers play throughout the year. Cordova Bay Golf course is minutes away. |

There are snowdrops from the garden on our Christmas table. Rhododendrons are in continuous bloom throughout the garden starting in January and lasting until June. All the spring bulbs are pushing out their flowers from January to April. The wisteria puts out cascades of blossoms during May. . |
